The Astrophotography feature is available in all the ported version of Google Camera 7.0. But, the latest 7.0 version is not compatible for every smartphone. It is not enabled on Redmi Note 8 with Google Camera 7.0 by default. So you need to perform some settings to enable it. Just following the steps below:

Step 1. Open the Google Camera App and enter the settings menu.

Step 2. Scroll down and click on “About modification”.

Step 3. Then go to “Developer Settings”.

Step 4. Enable or check these three options:

● camera.cuttle.darken

● camera.cuttle.extended

● camera.cuttle.extended_iterable_burst

Step 5. Force stop the Google Camera app and re-launch it.

Step 6. Once the Astrophotography mode is enabled, head to the home page of the Gcam app and select the Night Sight Mode.

Step 7. Then swipe down for settings and set Focus to Infinity and timer to 3 seconds for Astronomical feature.

Note:

● To activate the Astronomical feature, please keep your phone static when it is shooting (we recommend you to use a tripod stand to keep your phone static).

● The Astronomical feature works only under low light condition.

● Once the Astronomical mode is activated, it usually takes more than a minute to start up.
